Subject: a young girl trying to find her family
Ariana awoke in her usual place in traverse town, The inn. Her room was nice and, thankfully, free.
“Why that dream again?” She wondered out loud.
“Hey! Ari, you awake in there?” A hyper voice called out, Ari placed it immediately, Yuffie.
“Yeah, I’m up. Be out in a minute.”
Ari walked over to her closet and started rummaging through her clothes. She didn’t have much. Ariana had been in traverse town for little over a month now. She couldn’t remember where she was from, at first she didn’t even know who she was. Ari figured it out during a dream, after all, those dream had used the same name.
“Ariana! Hurry!” Yuffie called again, she had that impatient tone again.
Ari pulled out her black and white tank top, jeans and black tennis hoes, And quickly pulled them on.
She stepped out of the door and quickly followed Yuffie to the door of Cid’s shop. There was going to be some kind of meeting there about the rising numbers of heartless in the city.
“What took you so long?” Aerith asked first.
“Ari had some trouble getting up this morning.” Yuffie grinned.
“I did not! I had that stupid dream again…”
“Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t kn-” Ari cut Yuffie off.
“Don’t feel sorry, I don’t want your pity. It’s just hard for me to wake up in middle of a dream. That’s all I meant by it.” Ari sat down at her usual spot at the table when something hit her. Everything about today was the usual, every little bit of it. She Hated it when things were so
routine, so she decided she would change it. She’d get out of here, look for that place she was from, the name was on the tip of her tongue, when… Leon spoke up: “I think Yuffie and I have found the key blade master. We took him to the hotel.”
Bingo! That was it, She would go with him, Then she could see other worlds and find her home. Maybe even her parents.
“Can I go see him?” Ari blurted out quickly.
“Why?” Leon asked.
“I’m just curious. That’s why.”
“Go ahead, But be careful, there are ton’s of heartless wandering around.”
Ariana walked out of the shops back room and through the main doors. She loved walking around in Traverse Town, It was like night all the time. The town had this certain edge to it, she absolutely loved that edge.
Soon Ari was in front of the Hotel. She walked in and then went up to the front desk.
“Where’s the boy Leon and Yuffie brought in?” Ari asked.
The man simply pointed straight down the hall. Ariana walked quickly down the hall and opened the door at the end. There lay a boy with unruly brown hair and a strange red jumpsuit. On his bed lay a blade that looked just like a key.
Bingo! It looked just like her blade, but instead of a key hers had a crescent moon. And it was silver and blue instead of gold and silver.
“Good looking kid isn’t he?”
Ari jumped at the sound of Cid’s voice.
“What? Why are you here?”
“We’re worried bout you Ari, you’ve been actin’ strange lately and those dreams are comin’ around every night. I really want to help but ya gotta tell us what’s wrong.”
“There’s nothing wrong.”
“Ari I know you better than that, something’s wrong. If ya want it can be between just me and you.” He said, putting a hand on her shoulder. She had trusted Cid since day one, For some unknown reason she had liked him the best.
“I- I want to know who I really am, where I come from and all that. Maybe I could travel to different worlds, Find mine, and get the answers there.”
“Kid, I think that’s a pretty good idea. Then you can get your answers and get your head back on straight. We’ll miss you like hell but it’ll all work out in the end.”
“Thanks Cid. I’ll go with the key blade master. He’ll need to travel to other worlds to do the whole key hole thing, and maybe he’ll need an extra hand, so…”
“You’ll leave in the morning. The boy already has a couple “things” he’s travelin with, they got a gummi ship, sounds like a plan to me. Go get packed, we gotta talk to the kid.”
“Kay, Seeya Cid.”
Ariana went back to her room and packed what few belongings she had in her messenger bag and sat down on her bed.
How was she going to leave them? This is the only reality she’s ever known, it’s been a short one, but the only one. Would she ever be able to survive on her own? Ari couldn’t remember anything her parents had taught her. How was it going to work.
“Ughh.” Ariana threw herself back on her bed.
Life is so complicated. And she’d only been living it a month.
